THE BRIEF
The Registry of Forgotten.
& Me is a publication centered around the emotional relationships people form with their childhood pets. The project explores nostalgia, grief, companionship, and memory through a collection of personal stories and curated music selections connected to each animal. I was interested in how design could preserve deeply personal experiences in a way that felt intimate, sentimental, and reflective rather than overly documentary.
PROCESS
Designing through emotion and memory.
The process began through interviews and conversations about people’s relationships with their pets, focusing on specific memories, emotions, and moments of connection. From there, I developed a visual system inspired by scrapbooks, photo albums, and physical keepsakes, combining typography and image treatment into a cohesive narrative experience.Each section was carefully paced to feel personal and immersive, allowing the publication to move between lighthearted nostalgia and quieter reflections on loss and remembrance.
